I think this Heath "Bar" Ledger guy was killed by the people who made The Dark Knight to create some buzz and hype about the movie. It worked, and before the next batman movie comes out they'll do it again.

Watch out, Christian Bale!

I really didn't think his joker was anything that amazing. The voice was more annoying than scary. Nicholson was made for the role, Heath had to kind of force it more.

And I heard the same thing about Bale quitting if Robin is introduced. Thank god.

Hopefully Dent didn't really die. That make up was sick. I saw a picture of it a few months ago, and everyone was saying it had to be fake because it was so gory.

And Seven, I thought you said you saw it. Or at least you said the voice is annoying in this movie too. I guess you heard it on the previews?

Yes dipshit, I made all my comments based off a preview. It's a super hero movie. The cop who supposedly died came back. I could see Two Face coming back simply because there's more they could build off of him; again, it's a movie about men in costumes - the writers could work their magic. If not for Heath's death, I'm sure Joker would have made a second appearance as well, based off the bit of dialogue he and Batman exchanged while he was hanging upside down.

Personally, I rather see no villains make an appearance, and have the third film be Batman versus the city - and no, I don't meant him going apeshit, but rather him dealing with his own demons/shortcomings/whatever as the public fosters a growing hatred from him.

So long as it doesn't suffer the fate of Spider Man 3 I'll be content.

And regarding Jack's Joker....uh uh, Heath has him beat. This is only opinion of course, but I never considered Nicholson to be that great of an actor, just a man of the same raised eyebrow and weird ass grin. Heath definitely nailed this one down.

Nicholson is one of my favorite actors. He can do crazy Joker or mob boss, bored old man in About Schmidt, and cool southern alcoholic.

Sorry if I hit a soft spot dude. But, you said that you are BANKING on twoface for the next movie. That wouldn't make any sense for the series. Nolon has made his mark on this series by painting a more realistic portrayal of the batman series. Everything he's done so far has made sense - including the way Commissioner Gordon "dies".

It would be both illogical and disappointing if "the writers waived their magic" and started writing poorly. Batman touched Harvey Dent's dead body which they then proceeded to bury. Sorry, it just wouldn't make any sense. So rather than presume that you had somehow neglected to pick up on ALL of that while you were watching the movie, I made the assumption that you probably didn't see the movie. I was wrong. Again, I'm sorry if it hurt your feelings.

I'd like to see Penguin next. Devito played him really gross and creepy, and he had the perfect body for the character.

As to the Batman voice, I didn't really like it, but it made sense that he needed to alter his voice when talking to people that know Bruce Wayne.

Yeah, what was weird though, in one scene, he was talking to Morgan Freeman's character, while he was in the suit, and no one else was around. He still spoke in the voice. I just wrote it off as him "staying in character" as the batman.

I honestly hope for no more sequels. The problem is that this movie was way too awesome. And especially when something so amazing is achieved, trying to better it in a sequel has often catastrophic results.

None of the other baddies feel right in this slightly darker version of Batman. I was actually really pleased they called the movie The Dark Knight. Because it's just that - it's dark. The riddler might fit, but come on, another psychopath as a villain? You think he'd ever compare to Heath's Joker? And penguin? Yeah I think the first time penguin made an appearance was pretty ok. Danny De Vito was fine as the penguin, but as a baddie it just lacks that punch that you get from TDK.

i can't see a sequel happening. And if it does happen, it's got a real high chance of being a major flop.

But I suppose DC could always do what Marvel plans to do and bring all their superheroes together for a freaking Justice League movie.

On a more review note, I think this movie was amazing from start to finish. They didn't bother with starting slow. They started of with a crazy bang.. didn't bother showing background of how Joker came about, didn't bother telling some past story in the beginning. They just dived straight in and made a maniacal fest of two and a half hours. The intensity was never given a chance to die down. Every hit that the Joker made just kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger and more unpredictable. I liked how he actually told the cops what he'd do next, and it would actually happen even when they tried their very best to stop it. I was right on the edge of my seat thinking 'how the fuck is Batman gonna pull the city out of this shit this time..'

This movie deserves all the credit to it. Highlight of the summer blockbuster season.

Everyone keeps suggesting major baddies. Im sure there are some minor villains that could pull it off and make the next movie just as epic. It doesnt really matter who the villain is as long as Nolan knows how to pull it off. And so far it seems like he knows his stuff.

Once The Joker - and a well acted Joker at that - is introduced, there's not really a villain who can fill the same spotlight. Batman versus City/himself would be fine, though I'm certain the writers had intended to bring Joker back, based off the foreshadowing dialogue near the end. So long as iy doesn't turn into a Spider Man 3 I'll be content.
