    LM Adjudication

    General LM Adjudication

Scoring is out of twenty. Scores are determined through three subcategories. The following information is strictly a guideline. The artistic judgement of reviewers is paramount.

Spelling and Grammar | 0-5 points.

N/B: Use common sense when applying this category to verse.

1/5 - Illegible or unreadable writing.

2/5 - Consistent grammatical and spelling related errors.

3/5 - Predominantly correct. Minor errors.

    4/5 - Grammatically flawless writing.

5/5 - Competant manipulation of sentence structure, creative use of punctuation and effective paragraph composition.
Tone and Voice | 0-5 points.

    1/5 - No discernable style.

    2/5 - Generic, uninteresting tone.

3/5 - Effective yet inconsistent vocabulary and phrasing.

4/5 - Strong, interesting use of a particular tone.

5/5 - Perfectly fitting or unique style and technique.
    Effect | 0-10 points.

Remaining points are yours to set. Things you might want to consider are originality, conceptual interest, effectiveness of imagery, emotional evocativeness and, of course, creative interpretation of the theme.

    Review

Every score you give should be accompanied by a brief review. This is not meant to be a chore, so it's absolutely up to you how much you want to write. A minimum of three sentences is required to cover the bases (grammar/spelling, tone/voice, overall effect).

    E.g.

I found this piece very stimulating. Your diverse vocabulary worked well with your short, choppy sentence composition to create a stylistically interesting piece of prose. Unfortunately, I found the piece emotionally void, leaving me uneffected by your evident technical proficiency.

NICE ONE!!!!!! THAT KICKED SO MUCH ASSSSSSSS, MAN.

It's really up to you. Above all, I don't want anyone to take the above guidelines too seriously. This isn't a matter of life and death, and if you find yourself enjoying reviewing not at all then put 'em aside and go with your instincts.

    Review Template

    Code:
    Title: <title>
    Author: <author>

    <review>

    Score: <xx/xx>
    E.g

    Title: Penguin Patrol
    Author: Pawn

I really wasn't able to get into this piece. Your constant, unnerving use of sexual deviance as a plot device just left me cold, while your sporadic bursts of what I can only assume to be Icelandic were at best gratuitous.

    Score: 3/20
