Thread: Newbie Greetings...

Hello, my name is Iolanthe, but "LadyWolf" is probably easier. I'm a writer, and at the moment I'm suspended in that delightful/dreadful limbo waiting on tenterhooks while Honorable Agent submits my debut novel to the publishing houses. For want of a better description I call it a "literate social thriller", which means it has elements of humor, suspense, women's and literary fiction all rolled up into a nifty and readable story. (Or, alternatively, a Byzantine mishmash of cross-genre hybridization. It depends on one's outlook, I suppose.)

Although the subject matter is very contemporary, I am more of a traditional writer, eschewing fashionable stylistic/verbal fireworks in favor of sober-sided traditional storytelling. Of course that may tag me as irredeemably old-fashioned and "square" (do people still say that? I’m 58 and clueless) but nonetheless I’ve made every effort to not only entertain, but offer some food for thought along the way. I’m hopeful of getting my book published, but also realistic, and very aware of the daunting challenges facing newbie writers. Que sera, sera; meanwhile, I’m 20K words into my next novel, which is completely different in every way (I get bored easily.)
