    Advice - Reviewers

    Hi guys,

I am new here so forgive if this seems a tad spammy.

Apart from my day job of writing non-fiction academic stuff... I have spent the past 5 years writing a fantasy novel(s) as well. I have started publishing it online but would like to get it reviewed so as to build word of mouth. I am not going to post the link here as I have no intention of spamming you.

HOWEVER... do you know who/where/how I might go about getting my work reviewed? Online fiction reviewers interested in fantasy are difficult to find.

The goal is to get a fanbase online and move into print. I have found that fiction publishers are far more, well, judgmental than academic editors, which I find hard to understand (especially considering the requirement for peer review in the academic field).

    So... help me out

Hello there! As far as i know, you can only get reviews once you're published. Your publisher will send copies of a new novel to other authors and reviewers (of magazines, newspapers) to get reactionns. Then you get the following: on a book of A, you can readl: 'This is the guy I read' by B - who's equally well-known. Reviews are only any good if they're from well-known authors, or from people working for reputable newspapers or magazines. What's a review, if written by another unknown?
