Introducing myself
Hello everyone,
This is my second attempt at this. I have never been a part of an online community of any sort, and am a bit lost trying to navigate these pages. I was able to figure out that starting a "new thread" was the option to gain this writing space. If anyone can provide any advice to a complete novice on the simple pragmatics of maneuvering in here that would be helpful.
My name is Doug, I am a Mental Health Therapist working in Central New York State. I have been writing and journaling all of my adult life, but lacking in the confidence to seek publication. A good friend directed me to this sight as a way of talking with other writers, and sharing some of my writing. I thank all of you in advance for being out there (here). I will try hard to be here too. Since my teen years (I am now 50), I have enjoyed the process of writing, the search to describe the indescribable, the delicious texture of well chosen words in rows. I look forward to sharing and learning from all of you. Thanks again for being here. Doug

Why hello you lost little pile of....
FRESH MEAT
Let the feasting begin!
Just kidding, welcome to the forums.
Just use the bar at the top to navigate
and hit replay when you feel motivated.
I would recommend just hanging back and reading a bit before you jump in to get a feel for this place.
Ungood.

It certainly is gratifying to pop in and find so many friendly greetings while I was away. Thanks. I will probably take Ungood's, good advice and Hang back and read a bit. (the fresh meat thing was funny). Looking forward to an ongoing dialogue with you all. But I will take a bit of time for orientation. It's good to be in.
