Hi! need some help getting back into it

Hey everyone. I'm glad I came across this place. It seems to be a pretty awesome resource.
Normally I wouldn't have posted an Introduce yourself thread, but I didn't know where else to go with this question.
I was wondering if anybody could help me out. About a year and a half ago I wrote something that really hurt someone that I care very much about. Since then, I have been too afraid to write something--anything--for fear of her reaction. Even at times that I felt that I could physically write, I felt no inspiration. The magic was gone.
What advice can anyone give?

heh. what did you write a death threat to her or something.

Bottom line, write for yourself, your writing is going to piss people off, make em' laugh, cry, whatever; but if your not writing for yourself whats the point.

If your scared to wirte because of other peoples reactions your going to have a tough time being a writer IMO. Writers need to develop a tough skin.

Your inspiration should be write for your own enjoyment.

Welcome to the forums.

Nickie is an unknown quantity at this point
I can only second Industrial's opinion: writing is mainly for yourself - and if you're writing novels you have a public in mind for them. Not everyone will like what you write, that's a fact, and the truth can sometimes hurt. You could perhaps explain to this person why you wanted to write that piece, and if she's fair, she'll understand your motives. But don't let that stop you from going on writing.
Anyway, welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the advice. It is truly welcome, I assure you. But it isn't that I'm writing for someone else or myself. I know writing is for me. But what I think is more of the issue for me is the loss of inspiration, boarding on loss of passion.

Then you came to the right place. Sit back and relax, read through the threads, add your two cents on pieces you find interesting, skip the ones you don't. Play word games, go into the lounge, enter contests and let inspiration find you. If you are meant to write, then you will and coming to this site will help awaken the spirit of the writer within you. Hell, even people who claim NOT to be writers have written after coming here.

Good luck and welcome to WF!

Your writing is invariably going to hurt someone. People always draw conclusions from things like that. My little brother thinks one of my characters is modelled on him. He was pissed about it (still is) and has hated my guts for the past couple of years. Do I care? No. I write for me. I don't care what other people think.

I hope you find the inspiration again, Flinten.

Sam.
