Hello Everyone

Hello there,

Just thought I would introduce myself! I have always enjoyed writing throughout my life, but it is only now at 24 years old, that I have decided to take it seriously. I signed up for a creative writing course and it really got me going, but now that is finished I am looking for somewhere I can get valued feedback and share ideas. Hopefully I can find that here!

Right now I am working on a collection of short stories, all based on traditional fairytales but with an added layer of depth... I want to write fairytales which have more psychological relevance to people of today whilst still being essentially enjoyable and most importantly magical! I also write from a perspective of having suffered with mental illness, and my writing is very much a vent for my feelings, a kind of therapy, if you will!

I hope I find what I am looking for from this forum, and I look forward to chatting with many of you!

xxx

Yes, am working on my own version of The Little Mermaid and posted the opening paragraphs up last night in the advice and critique forum - the thread is called 'opening passage seeks critique (403 words)'
