Slacker Newbie
Hey all,
You can call me Peril. I'm in college for a degree in English or Art or Etymology or something. I'm too much of a slacker to know for sure yet.
The stuff I write is mostly what you'd call magical realism or slipstream fantasy, when it's not busy falling woefully short and sounding mostly like a twilight zone rerun. But that's why I'm here -- to improve. I do a lot of poetry too, even though I mostly want to work on my stories. My favorite writers are Ray Bradbury, Neil Gaiman, and Kelly Link.
I was part of the fantastic young writers' community Absynthe Muse, until its unfortunate collapse. Since then I haven't really been able to get back into my writing. I miss the whole flow of critique-and-get-critiques. So I hope this place has the same fun sort of atmosphere!
