    Hi to everybody!

    I'm John Austin, a Florida "Gator" now living in Pueblo, Colorado for the past two years (had to get out of the hurricanes and humidity). I am retired and am writing my first book: Havana Harvest...When Cuba was Naughty. About my high school basketball team's coming-of-age experiences on a trip to Havana in 1958; Castro was just about to come down from the mountains and take control!

    When I get enough posts to my credit I will give out my amateurish web site address for any who might be interested in a little more detail as I update my progress. The book proposal is finished and I am now researching agents...Thanks...Glad to be aboard! 3/28/08: I think I can now put in my web page address. It is John R. Austin - Writer Please visit anytime!     Just got back on...it's so hard to find time for anything anymore...I want to thank all who welcomed me...I am glad to hear from Belgium (Nickie) and New Zealand (Shinn) and of course my fellow Floridian Chim. By the way, Chim, are you a "Gator"? And Roxane that gum looks good!

    And a warm thank you for your welcome from Ireland! I have always loved Ireland even though I have never been there. I love Irish music too much and am a great fan of Van Morrison who is an Irish product.

    I believe the best movie John Wayne ever made was The Quiet Man which takes place in Ireland.
