Thread: Hey

As is probably evident by the fact that I'm on this site in the first place, I'm a struggling writer. I am majoring in English at Michigan State (I'm from MI). I write a wide variety of stories, sometimes comedy, sometimes genre. People tell me my writing is always dark or disturbing. I try to remain versatile in my topics and style of writing. I have written some short stories, which have all been rejected. But I keep on trying. I guess I hope that on a site like this I could find a chance to participate in the reviewing process.

My influences are pretty widespread stuff like; Philip K. Dick, HP Lovecraft, Poe, Frank Herbert, Hunter S. Thompson, Robert E. Howard, Michael Moorcock, George Orwell, Margaret Atwood, Joyce Carol Oates, Jack London...Others...I guess I mostly like to read and write stuff with a horror/fantasy/science fiction/surrealist element or sometimes genre-mixing, although I find it difficult to imagine markets that would want to buy the stuff that I like to write...
