I'm ready to learn, sensei!

Hello! I'm Chris, and i've been writing even since i was ten, and up untill today, i thought i was moderatly good. That is, untill i read a few paragraphs of some REAL writting. Mine did not compare. more so as of late, i've been in a crunch of sorts. I'm only 19 so i don't know much. But i'm willing to try my hardest to learn, and I'd love to make as many friends as possible along the way.

My problem with writing right now seems that i keep using excessivly short sentances, and i can't think of a way to make them longer, without mispelling a larger word. (no spell check on my computer)

So, im hoping that by joining this forum, i can get tips from the masters! one day i hope to have a carrer in writing, but before that, i just write for fun.

!

Hello, Chris and welcome to the forum. Writing long sentences is all well and good, but it doesn't make you a good writer. A good writer knows when to use short and long sentences to best suit the moment. But, if you stick around here, you'll soon learn very much.

Sam.

Welcome to the forum. My advice, stop watching TV and texting your friends and sit down with a couple of classics - that should cure you of your short sentence problem.

Welcome and good luck!

What really is encouraging to me is that just when I was at the brink of giving up on writing, I found a mentor / tutor / instructor who has helped me so much that I can never repay him. His name is Rob Parnell. If you will visit the following website below, you will see wonderful ebooks and tools to help you hone your writing skills. Yes, I also get a commission from sales of those who make purchases, but I am convinced that I am doing you a favor after seeing what it has done for me. I hope you will visit so that you will see what I mean. His ebooks are DIRT CHEAP. But the wisdom and instruction that they contain is worth more than gold.
