Hello
Hello. I am a high-school student who has found a creative outlet other than music. (Just when practicing that blasted concerto 3 million times gets boring ) Most of my writing comes in the form of short stories (2,000 to 10,000 words) or huge projects, (45,000-100,000) words. I'm mostly set in my short story range. But sometimes I write the odd poem or two. Much of my experience is writing Sci-Fi.
As you might have guessed, I love music, and that is my main creative outlet, mostly 'cause I'm a lot better at playing the trombone, over writing a nice story, which is why I'm here, I just need some more practice. And so with that, Hello.

Sci-Fi is really, a great genre. You have no constraints. There is no history in the future, we can only predict, and that's what makes it a great genre to write in. Sci-Fi also allows you to build up certain tools and basics, especially for beginners(like me!). It's definitely easier to start in a world where anything goes over an alien invasion in 17th century Spain or somesuch.
But what really hooked me into the whole Sci-Fi thing was Warhammer40K, granted I'll still write a FanFic piece every now and then, but that isn't what I'm bringing here.
The point being, of that entire bit of how I got into writing, is that Sci-Fi is an awesome genre.

That is my hope. Getting better is important to me, the self-discipline it takes to learn and get better at an instrument comes into play here. And while it was good enough to get me started on a few fairly good first pieces sometime ago, It's not enough to make me improve. So, that's why I cam here.
Which reminds me that I do have a piece put up in the critique section if anyone is interested in looking at it.
