Hi from England

Figured I'd post a hello thread.
I'm from SW England...the original England by the way.

One of my e-pals pointed me to this site, they have not got account themselves, but I figured I may as well given I am here.

I am not expecting a major welcome, as for writing, I have bits here and there that I have written which I'll probably post on here at some point. None of it is A* as it were but I don't think people's writing should be graded, it is self expression. You don't go to a child and say that this this and this is wrong and MUST be fixed, you encourage them and suggest better ways of doing it, I hope that that is what you all do on here. I am a "child" of writing, be kind

Happy writing!

Singularis.

PS: Life is a learning adventure, it is up to us, the students, to embrace its lessons and I choose to embrace any critique that any of you may have for anything I write.

Hi Singularis.

I am new to this forum, but I've participated in other forums and groups through the years.

I love getting feedback on my work. I consider a positive critique to be a very loving gesture. When I give feedback, I put a lot of time into looking at someone's work. This is positive energy I'm giving.

I try to focus on a writer's strengths. It's my opinion that if we each strengthen our strengths (LOL), we develop our own style. Once we are confident about what we are doing, it is easier to accept suggestions that we take as criticism. We don't have to agree with another person's view of our work, but it is a lucky opportunity to find people willing to read what we've written.

Feedback and critique are built on trust. Feedback and critique are gifts that help us improve. They come from generosity.

Marsha

Welcome, Singularis! I'm new here too. Good luck with your writing.

Marsha, your comments are spot-on, and as well stated as I've ever heard regarding feedback and critique!

Hi Singularis and welcome to the forum.

I agree people's writing shouldn't be graded. By the way, your intro was a B+.
