Hello, World
Hi People,
Just a brief introduction.
I'm a freelance writer in the metro Atlanta area and an aspiring novelist. I've completed a manuscript and it's with an agent in NY who is still considering it. I'm crossing everything!
The book has been categorized as an absurdist drama, which I find very fitting. It is an irreverent and bumpy ride that mixes dark comedy, satire, and what I hope is keen insight into the boundaries of forgiveness, and just how far people will go to get back inside doors that have been closed to them.
I spent 3 years writing the first draft and another 1 1/2 working through revisions. I've researched two more ideas and I'm trying to decide which to pursue next.
My friends tell me that I have a quirky sense of humor and that I should try stand-up comedy (maybe I will if the novel fails!). I love to cook, read, of course, and I'm a avid people watcher! (aren't all writers though!). I enjoy running and hate that my literary muse always visits me in the middle of a 6-miler when I can't jot stuff down. I'm inclined to start running with a small digital recorder.
I said brief introduction and this is getting long, so I'll close.
I look forward to meeting people on these forums and participating in the discussions.
All the best,
Ken
