Greetings from the USA.

Hello and greetings from the US. I'm not a writer, per se but it's always been an interest of mine. I've always enjoyed writing, about anything. Recently I've been working on some projects, an independent story of my own as well as another project with two other people. I enjoy writing narration, poetry (and song lyrics), dialogue (I suppose I can handle it), and brainstorming.

Anyways, I've found this forum since I looked for a place where I could go for critique, advice, research and information, and this I hope can help me further develop my writing abilities and increase my knowledge. Thanks for reading. XD

Welcome to WF, Nightfire! What genre do you enjoy writing/reading?

Hehe, thanks Maia. I don't use it too often though. XD

Foxee: I enjoy reading these genres the most: fiction (not really science fiction unless it's like 1984 - easily one of the best books I've read), mystery, non-fiction, some fantasy (I'm unsure about listing that, although Lord of the Rings has been a favorite of mine and I wouldn't leave it out). Among those are my favorite genres to read.

As for writing, I enjoy fiction and drama the most, as for poetry I haven't really gotten into it much, but it's mostly lyric poetry or - as for other forms I tend not to be able to follow them well, so I would say free verse is another I write (which, when I bother to write I end up wanting to or compiling it into song lyric form). I haven't really tried writing sci-fi but I suppose I would enjoy it. Like I said, narration is probably a strong point - yet it can be my weak point as well if I overdo it.

Well, thank you all for welcoming me.
