inspired by nanowrimo to find a forum

Hello! I recently finished the rough draft of a novel that's been brewing in my head for a torturously long time. It took the National Novel Writing Month (nanowrimo) to get the almost 50,000 words out of me - in thirty days no less. Actually, I only made it to about 46,000 words;after almost a month of ignoring my internal editor, it bullied it's way into my manuscript towards the end and I started tweaking my words right after I wrote them and lost steam. Getting sick didn't help either.
I finished the rough draft from start to finish even though it was very sparse. I'm thrilled with the way the plot makes sense and everything is interconnected. Yay! It's awfully written, because I was going for speed and quantity over quality, but now I have the rough draft to edit, add to, and refine. I cried when I finished because it meant so much to me after years of procrastination. Can't believe I did it in 30 days. God bless nanowrimo!

I'm excited!!!! I enjoyed the nanowrimo forums so much I looked for another forum and found this one! I look forward to learning alot and connecting with the writing world!

I'm thrilled to be in the company of other writers! I saw the Literature discussion forum and will now pop in there! I just read an awesome book called extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. maybe someone in that post will want to discuss it!

Cheers!

Heh. When I was younger, any time I finished a manuscript I ran through the house with it in my hands, screaming, "Master Piece! It's a Master Piece!"

Hehe. Welcome to WF.

Hehe. Welcome to WF.
Wow. Emerson Darkness described me, with a slight variation on words. I was yelling "It's beginning! It's finally beginning!" (my life as a writer) Super corny, I know, but the beauty of posting on a forum is just being myself, dork qualities exposed.

Thank you for the welcome; it does mean a lot.

Golly Huntingtonb! Have you got and fingers left?

I'm thrilled with the way the plot makes sense and everything is interconnected.

I'm with you on that one!

Welcome.
