Hi, everyone!
I am a new member and I would like to introduce myself. I live and work in London. I write plays for the theatre, screenplays, and novels.

I also teach English and Drama. I am 47 years old.

At the outset, I would like to ask everybody if anyone out there knows of any Publishers (refereed, please, NOT self-publishing!), who are particularly interested in fiction by and about women? I had heard of a company by the name of 'Verago' or 'Virago'. Can you help if you know anything about them - i.e. contact details, precise spelling of company name, etc. Alternatively, please let me know if you know any other Publisher interested in womens subject matter.

Publishers Little, Brown Book Group, have a division called Virago (website www.virago.co.uk) specializing in fiction & non-fiction, highlighting all aspect's of women's lives.

it's easy to find publishers of any specialty... you can google 'em, go to www.duotrope.com, or subscribe to www.writersmarket.com [or check latest ed. of the book version]... there must be some kind of british version of writer's market, if you don't want to go with an american publisher... i'm sure your fellow brits here will know what it is...
