stupid_dream is on a distinguished road
Well...where do I start?

Hello, my nickname is stupid_dream, and I am new to WritingForums.com. Ever since I was a young lad I wanted to write. It has become one of my passions, and although I do not think highly of my work, I hope to improve.

Writing stories is one of the things I love doing in my spare time. Whether it be long or short, it is always a joy to sit down and start brainstorming ideas and such. I once wrote a story when I was eleven years old; I managed to get 70 pages done before I started to lose interest in it, so I called it quits with that project. Over the past three years or so I have been writing more and more, and I do hope my future has something to do with writing. I like writing fantasy and science-fiction type stuff, but I am open to anything really.

Poetry has also become a nice pasttime for me. When I was younger (around 12-13ish), I always dismissed poetry as banal and dumb (probably too much Shakespeare; I still do not like his works to this day), but now I enjoy it a lot, and I have written quite a few poems of my own, some of which I wish to share sometime here. I do not title my poems, but rather leave them untitled.

In my spare time I like to listen to music. I like to listen to progressive rock, some metal, singer-songwriter stuff, and definitely music that can tell a story. My favorite bands are Porcupine Tree, Coheed and Cambria, Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Anathema, and my favorite solo artists are John Frusciante and Elliott Smith.

I also like art. I draw in my spare time as well. I usually draw a picture that fits with a poem or short story I just wrote, because that adds more depth to the "project", as I like to call it.

I hope to fit in here, and I hope to learn more from my peers and about writing in general. Thanks for your time and reading this.
