This is me

Hello,

Some pesky bot keeps telling me to introduce myself so I guess I ought to. So...
I'm a not a dedicated writer at all. Most of my ideas grow into monstrous sagas that are more daunting than thrilling. And sadly, I have a habit of becoming bored with my own stories and inevitably drop them.

I live in the middle of the boondocks, right next to Amish. Though I'm only in High School, I've been fortunate enough to have had two impressive English teachers that I admire immensely. I owe a lot to them both.

I hope this board will prompt me to stick with one story and perhaps - brace yourselves - FINISH it!

Thanks to everyone and I hope to hear from you soon.

Welcome Ironmouse. Hope to see some of your writing here. As for your delimma you have posted about - that is okay. Write whatever is on your heart, your mind. Whether you finish it or not, save it. Don't trash it. Don't file it away (well maybe for a season), but refer to it when you are stuck with description, dialouge, or any other things.

I know the feeling. I seem to only be able to finish shorter stories. I suppose the trick is to just force yourself to write, even it, even if only a bit at the time. Not that I'd know.

Welcome to the forums though. Hopefully you enjoy it around here. If you have any concerns in regards to the forums, feel free to contact a member of staff and we'll do what we can to help.

Hope to see you around.

It took me eight years to finish my first novel - seven years of putting it off and one year of serious hard work.

You can only put something off for so long before it bothers you, then you have to finish it before the voices in the back of your head drive you mad!

Welcome and enjoy.
