Ghent - poetry, science, and fiction
Hi, "Ghent" here.
Kansas City, KS, 27 yrs old, recently married, recently proud doggy-dad of a 5yr old black lab "Sabastian".
What can I say? I'm a contradiction. I'm a scientist-type, a biochem & cell biology major, but took poetry I & II on a busy dual science major & research schedule back during college. I've written [poetry] since high school, at least seriously since then... and I've been keeping it all.
Recently I've gotten into trying my hand at writing short stories & sci-fi. A couple of aquaintances from another forum (gaming oriented) directed me over here.
I do my own website, which holds [almost] all of my poetry, a few drawings too. Please visit, as I probably won't repost everything old from there to here to get a critique, only new stuff. Oh yeah... I draw also  Anything else?

Achilles, my website is in my profile  thanks for asking... http://www.chadland.com I know some people hate to follow outside links, but to read my other stuff that's probably the best way. For me to repost it all here... just seems like regurgitating, and inviting people that don't know me (or any better) to plagarize copyrighted work. Just always give me credit & link me... I'll usually be happy with that.
(yes, gasp, tis true... I was published in poetry journals before any science journal... so... yes, serious about the copyright )

Yes! Though I am not Belgian, Ghent is an awesome city, and I'd love to go there some day. The Treaty of Ghent signed in 1814, of course, ended The War of 1812 between the USA and Britain. Also the name of an industrious young "slicer" (hacker) in the Dark Force Trilogy of Star Wars novels by Timothy Zahn.

After some time away, I'm briefly back. I'm now back in graduate school full-time, and working part-time. Basically that means I have no free time %) How long until the next time I post some more poetry or another part of my ongoing sci-fi short story? That's just a matter of time...
