A shot in the dark

Hello everyone,

My names Ryan. 21 years old. Chose the name Erudite because i thought thats how it best describes my personality. Sage like. Profound. I know sounds a little self centered. But there's nothing greater to me than an imagination. Either by taking an idea from scratch and making it into something great or by improving on anothers idea or story and helping them to make it as best as it could be. Each story has a destiny same as its creator often entwined to eachother forever. Best to help it on its way rather than to push it back into the closet.

My strengths - Character creation and analysis. I excell at creating exquisite characters that people come to know and love. Every detail so tiny yet it seems to fit well. I am also very good with events. Battle descriptions. I am mainly a fantasy writer with a bit of science fiction but will read anything that is sent my way for a look over. My email is HatedJoker21@yahoo.com so if u ever have anything u want looked at send my way and ill give u my honest opinion with notes sent back.

My weaknesses - I have a very hard time with the minute to minute writing. The structure of certain writing styles. I am decent at dialogue but i find myself repeating certain things such as : "he asked" "he replied" "she said". Need help with keeping those kind of things fresh so that people dont feel like there chewing gum when there reading my work.

Thats just a few things about me hope to learn alot more about all of your alls strengths and weakness' so that we may benefit each other greatly.

I have similar strengths and weaknesses to you. I'd guess you'd write like me when I first registered but more detailed.

Yeah it has. Now I'm working on a novel on Microsoft Word and havent posted it here yet, so you cant tell by reading my old writings because there's nothing to compare them to. Some of my old fiction writings here really arent good in a critic's point of view but I like them because of the plot. The biggest thing I learned was to plan everything before I even started the story. I originally hated planning because of the boring outlining and web charts we did in school.

lol i remember those.

Web charts I didn't care for but I loved to outline things.

It gave me perspective and a base of operations to fall back on when i became stuck on one thing. Plus if i got tired about writing in one particular section i could skip ahead and concentrate on something that seemed a bit more entertaining and fresh to write about. It's a timeline basically, and you can skip around as much as you like then come back and just weave them all together at the end.

Yeah now i do somethings like an outline but I type it and its more just a list of events in order. It's less organized than an outline or power outline. I'm not really an organized person lol.

I have a very bad habit of making my outline way to long. Like 5 pages to long. Have a tough time narrowing down things so that i can begin to put everything as it should be.
