Jumping in...
Hi, everyone. I'm new here, but I've been writing fiction for years. Last winter I wrote a Phantom of the Opera fic and posted it on ff.net (I had just gone through a massive five-year writer's block, so writing anything again was sheer joy!). The feedback was great, but I'm trying to get back into writing original stuff (I do fantasy, mystery, some SF, may even attempt a Regency romance at some point). I heard about this site on the NaNoWriMo boards, so I thought I'd come over and join in.
At this point I've completed three novels and a novella, and I'm in the middle of two other novels and am about to start another for NaNoWriMo (yes, I'm insane).
This looks like a great place -- I'm glad I found it.

Hi there, Christine, and welcome to the forums!
Boy, I'm also a big fan of the Phantom (as is my sister, whose name is Christine). We have seen the show x-times, in various places. I'd love to be able to sing Christine's part, but right now I just can't manage the highest notes.

Thanks, Nickie. My middle name actually is Christine. And my husband's name is Erik.
I've seen the show 22 times over the years, but I haven't been able to see it lately, unfortunately. I can do Christine's part if I'm really warmed up. Oh, and I've made a bunch of her costumes from the stage show, too. You can see them here.

Christine, they are just lovely!!! I don't know how you can do this, you're a true artist!
Have you ever seen "Whistle down the wind"? This Lloyd-Webber show is just as great as the Phantom, but the general public didn't seem to think so. In a couple of days I'll be in New York and I'm going to see The Woman in White, another LLoyd-Webber show - and who knows, the Phantom again???

Thank you! They were fun to make, although now I look back at those photos and wonder what the heck I was thinking!
I haven't seen "Whistle Down the Wind." My husband and I are going to try to go to New York in the spring, so I'm hoping I can see Phantom again then, and I'd really love to see "Spamalot." :-P I'll add "Whistle" to the list!

I've made costumes as well. My "Adam & Eve" stopped the show at the mall's costume contest. It was also very popular in jail later on.
I'm retarded.
Welcome to this sanctuary, this place of healing.
