Third to First...then vice versa
Daniel looks around and realizes that he's typing in third person. Now he must resume back into first person...
Heyllo!*
Just like everyone here, I am a writer. I used to like writing poems because you could write "anything" and still consider it a poem. Now, I developed a stronger interest in writing stories, essays, and the like because it offers that challenge. It takes more time and effort.
Ok! I'm heading the wrong way... must be selfish... must talk about myself... hehe...
I enjoy computer games such as Half-Life. I enjoy chatting and a bunch of computer hobbys. Whenever I get the chance, I want to learn how to sail...drift off.....and spend that God-given moment to think and write.
I hope to get to know unique, prolific writers out in this forum and be a help to their writings. This is my first writing forum that I have joined. Looks great!!!
*Not a typo. This is my way of saying hello.
Must resume back into third person. Until next time!
Daniel looks away from this post with a smile , hoping that this forum will enable him to meet other writers and to become a better writer himself.

Hi, and welcome to WF! Gee, I'm the first to do that!
I'm not a prolific writer, I only write for fun, but I'd always like to help if someone needs it.

Yes... I expected someone to say something about that. For some(or perhaps many), poetry is a wonderful art where there is no real rules, allowing the poet to soar into the lofty clouds. I really enjoyed writing poems myself during my junior high school life. I give props to those who takes it seriously. Heck, even poets changed the world with their words. What's there not to appreciate about them?
Then I realized something. When I try to have someone take a look at my poem, it is either simply dismissed with a "good poem" or some strange corrections.
Er...i really don't want to mention more... for my fear of causing The Great Wordy War or something. It's just my opinion. And I still write poems, but not as much as junior high. (I look at my poems from junior high and most of them revolves around the idea of love)
ms. vodka, I enjoyed one of your recent poems in the poem forum. I admire how you structure your poem.

You know what, Daniel? I used to teach writing when I was a grad student in English (and I didn't finish the program, please don't ever do that!) and I personally witnessed how many students hate reading and writing. You and the other young people here on this forum are blessed beyond reason. It comforts me to know that the art of writing is not at all lost, and you and your peers will keep things going and hopefully take literature beyond Milton, Melville and Hemingway (to name a few).

Wow.... someone who taught English!
I was just thinking about becoming a professor in Creative Writing...
But one day during my walk, a neighbor left a seed in me:
"My daughters were influenced by their high school teachers. They affected their lives. You should consider teaching high school."
When I still had my "professor teaching mentality," I DID NOT want to teach high school students, those lazy stubborn kids(kinda funny to say since I'm still a high school student). Then I gave it some thought. In high school, there will be many students I could influence while in college, there won't be those students(those who ends up in community college, etc.) I could reach out too.
So i'm interested becoming an high school english teacher. And yes, I am aware that it's a hectic place to be in.
By the way, the avatar you see is my English classroom. My English teacher connects well with his students and taught me how to use a dash and other nifty stuff--yay!
