Another person with ideas that will never make it to paper.

My name is Brandon Clements. I live in Linesville PA, never heard of It, I'm not surpised. I have always enjoyed writting. Stangly though I can barly stand reading? I always have an Idea, but I have never ben abile to finish any. The most I ever got was about 10 pages into a story. I decide I could not write and quit. My stories always bog down even and lack detial.

My current projects.

This first one is set in the middle ages.
A person who considers himself important in life( I made him an army captain) dies. He then becomes the first god. (In this story there is no god.)
He is shearching for his purpose in life (well etuarnity now I guess). In his life his purpose was laid before him, by his father. He was also an amry captian. He was raised such that he wished to help people so when he relised he was a god he set about to make people happy. He found that with his new power this was to easy and that people were starting not know joy becuase they knew not pain. Thus he reliases he his to powerful and needs something to opose him, to give himself purpose. Thus he creates the Devil, by selecting a man opposite to him in disposition and makes him a god also. Then the story plays out as he experiments with his new rivalry. In the end however he relises that they are equaly powered and that niether can win and therfore their stugle is piotless and must resume his search for a purpose.

(Sorry about the spelling but its 2 AM and I can barly read, or write.

Hmmn....that seems to be interesting, and seems that you are writing a story on gods and demons...

Heck, that's the same problem as mine, especially if you are writing a story for the very first time. You have something in mind that's worth writing, but you didn't know how to put it into writing. Where should I start? How many characters? What's the protagonist's main conflict in the story and how will he ever give solution to that, and so on and so forth.

Don't be disappointed if you can never able to finish your story the way you want it to be; writing such story like a novel can take many years of writing, researching, and a lot of patience. I'm writing on a fantasy story for two years now, and yes I already have the storyline and the characters but I am still working to put more substance into the story, and I am not quite sure how to end the story either. To add more substance to your story, and to put a little inspiration to your writing, well:

1) Why do you ever wanted to write? What is your purpose in writing a story? What type of story are you writing?
2) Try to get some tips on how to write a story on the Internet, and also try to get some help here if you have any questions.
3) Research while you can. If you wanted to write a story on science fiction, get information on outer space, information technology, robotics, etc.
4) In my case, I write the basic plot, then leave it for a few days. Ideas will then go into my head; try to write them down, then find which suits best in your story. Don't hurry with your story
5) Write the story if you feel like writing. If you feel you can never write any more, quit and rest
6) Use the "wh-questions": like what, where, when, whom, which, and the "universal question": why? Ask yourself: What drives your hero into doing something outrageous? Why is the villain's doing is evil in the protagonist's eye, yet logical to the antagonist's point of view?
7) Try to work on the story's main theme and conflict first. This might help you to propel your story.
7) Also, if you can, try to enroll in a creative writing class, if there are any, or attend seminars on writing.

Well, that's all what I can help, and remember that it doesn't need to have an IQ of 9999 to be a writer; all you need is imagination, inspiration, and patience! Good luck!
