Hello.

I'm hoping this will help me write some of the stories I've had floating around in my mind for the last few years. I came here because, obviously, I can get the opinions of other people who like to read and write. I am by no means an accomplished writer. In fact, I had to attend summer school to repeat my senior english class in order to get my diploma. I consider myself intelligent, but not necessarily an intellectual. I have read Dean Koontz and Clive Cussler, but my real passion is Stephen King. I have read a few of his novels and short stories. I have even read The Bachman Books. For any fan, this is something you have to check out. Rage and The Long Walk are two of my all time favorites. I am currently on book 3 of The Dark Tower series. It was reading his introduction at the beginning of The Gunslinger, that I finally decided to put my story into writing. I would have to say the one thing that really changed my life was a NOVA program entitled The Elegant Universe. Anyone looking to understand the inner workings of existence should see this three part series. Well that's me in a nutshell. Hope to hear from you soon.

Welcome to the forums! I too enjoyed The Long Walk but my favourite book is a collection of Stephen King's short stories called Nightmares and Dreamscapes. I hope you have an enjoyable time here. Please feel free to contact a Mentor or Moderator if you need anything.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

I'm sure you will find this to be an excellent place to help get those creative ideas onto paper. Everyone here is friendly and helpful, a great group of people. I also like Koontz and King. I am reading two books at the moment. The first is Fear Nothing by Koontz and the second is On Writing by King. On Writing is one I would highly recommend. I look forward to seeing you and some of your work around the forums. Have fun!
