A warm welcome all new members (Please read this)

Welcome to Writingforums.com. On behalf of everyone here, I'd like to offer you our warmest greetings. I hope you enjoy yourself on the site. This topic is aimed at helping you get started on the forum.

If you're new to the site, there are several topics dotted around the forum that are useful starting points:
  • If you're looking for feedback on your writing, and you're worried that no-one will reply, have a look at the How to get comments thread.
  • The forum archives are a gold mine of questions and answers; writing and critiques, as well as general chat. Use the search facility to find entries on topics you're interested in, especially if you have a question, to see if it may already have been answered.
  • The forum's Gallery is where members can post their pictures.
  • In a similar vein, a number of members have posted in the Getting to know you thread, which you can read through.
  • This is a moderated forum. We have a team of Moderators who have the power to delete posts that break the forum rules. But we are a friendly bunch really - if you have a problem on the site, feel free to let one of us know, and we'll be happy help you out.
  • There's also a team of Mentors, whose job is to act as guides to the site, and to help members generally. Again, you are more than welcome to contact one of the mentors if you need assistance.
  • If you haven't seen them already, please take a moment to read through the forum Rules and Guidelines. (don't worry - there aren't many ... but they are important to keeping everything running smoothly)
  • If you're not sure how the forum works, there's plenty of help available in the main FAQ document, and also in the BBCode FAQ, which explains how to add things like bold text or images to your posts.
  • And finally, if you have any ideas for how to improve the site, we have a suggestion box area specially set aside for you. Feel free to post your ideas there.
That's it. Now go forth, and enjoy the forum
