Hello. I only recently found this forum, but I can already tell that I will be spending many hours in front of the radioactive glow of my PC screen reading this awesome forum
My name is Andy and I'm 19, currently attending college on a writing scholarship. Up untill recently my writing portfolio consisted of Essay's and variety of short stories. I came to this forum, because I really need to write a novel. It's something I have to do for myself, I think you all can relate to this feeling. Since my writing is almost entirely modern first person, I told myself that I would write a 3rd person fantasy.
To accomplish this feat, I would need resources. What better place to find them than here? I am greatful to you all for the opportunity to exchange experiences and information with you all, hopefully we will all learn a little something from one another.

I hate trying to start a story in the third person when you are used to the first, very annoying. I am doing that right now and it's taking every ounce of my will to stop me from going back and making it 1st. Good Luck! That's cool about the writing scholorship! Congrats! And welcome!

In response to your comment Judy:
I selected the third person voice for a number of reasons, one of them was that I usually write in the first person. We can't grow unless we try new things, this is true about almost every facet of life. [/i]If[/i] my task proves to be to daunting, I will compose my piece in the first person.

I think we all know how difficult it can be to start a novel, I may be setting my sights to high when I presume to write it in the third person; a voice that I am inexperienced at writing in. I am however, familiar with it, as damn near every contemporary novel uses it.
