MadOphelia
Another new writer emerging from the shadows...

Hello, Namaste, Ni hao, Bonjour, etc.

I am sure we will all get to know each other eventually, but for now here is a little intro to me:

I call myself MadOphelia cause I use this moniker elsewhere (just easier than thinking up new names at every forum). I came up with the name after working on a college Shakepeare paper on Hamlet where I was writing a secret diary for Ophelia and I had to get inside her head-and I liked her best when she was "mad" hence the name "mad ophelia"

I am still in college working on an BA in English lit, and although not in the creative writing program, I am thinking of applying to get into an MFA program when I graduate-anywhere I can afford that will take me.

I have a livejournal that I just started, but other than that I do not have a huge body of writing, but I will be trying to submit something here and there whenever I feel confident.

I look forward to reading all of your submissions, and I bet that some of you will one day be giving a book talk somewhere and I will be able to think "I had a chance to meet them on the forum before they got famous".

Cheers.
-MO

Yes. It's true. One day you'll be able to tell your children that you once spoke to Pawn.

Welcome to the forum.

I thank you all for the lovely reception

Again, it is lovely to meet you all.

Judging by your post count you all have been around for some time.

Well, only way to start is to take a more 'thoreau' tour of the place.

Any recomendations, places of interest?

Oh, and here's a joke I got from "The Young Ones" (80s Brit comedy):

Knock, knock.
-Who's there?
Euripides.
-Euripides who?
Euripides-trousers, Eu-menda-dees-trousers!

-MO

ps sorry for the cheesy pun.

This is said quite a lot, but definitely post in the Lounge and Word Games so we can get to know you better. Oh, before I forget, I have a very harsh method of dealing with thieves, so watch out or you will be meeting my soupspoon of justice.

Seriously, welcome to the forums. See you around!

Edit: It is very cool that you used "moniker" in your first post. I love that word and wish more people knew of its existence. Never will I tire of saying "moniker."

Moniker, moniker, moniker, moniker...

I spend most of my time in the Poetry forum, with occasional detours here and to Word Games and The Lounge. I check out the rest occasionally too. It's all good fun - you can't go wrong.

Moniker moniker moniker...
