Well, hi.

Hello, everybody! I'm a 17 year old aspiring writer from Brooklyn, NY. Usually I'm writing short stories, and occasionally a bit of poetry. However, the poetry is usually nothing more than a pathetic angst-fest filled with melodrama and empty symbols, so I write it sparingly. I'm hoping to get inspired here, and hopefully receive a bit of harsh criticism for my own writing. Or glowing praise. Whichever.

Feel free to let me in on the unwritten rules of the forum...

Welcome!

You should be fine if you look over the FAQ's. Try not to post in the wrong section, and when posting a story please put a space between each paragraph. They don't have indents here. Do that, and you should be fine.

Pawn will tell you to bow to his omnipotence, but in truth you must pledge your life to the spork and it's unlimited power.

No, no, no, my dear purple companion! You have it wrong; Pinkspider must acquiesce to might of the written word for it holds power over everything. When the Spork Revolution is over, the tomes of scholars will determine whether it was successful or not. Bow to the pen for it will always dominate the spork!

Welcome to the forums, Pinkspider! As you can see, we are an eccentric bunch. Follow most of Bobothegoat's advice and you should fit in just fine. See you around!

An interesting, if misguided, argument.

Welcome to the forum pinkspider. Hurah for someone who actually realises that melodrama isn't good poetry. Post something - I've plenty of harsh criticism and glowing praise just waiting for a victim.

Hi Pinkspider, welcome to the forums...don't let Pawn frighten you...don't tell him I said it...but he's really a pussy cat! All bluster and no bite! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or one of the other moderators to guide you around the site.

Hiya, pinkspider, like Bea said, some of us here are a tad more blunt than the rest, but the good advice they do give, more than makes up for the lack of tact.
