Greetings

Hi everyone.

I just happened upon this site and enjoyed it so much I had to sign up. I live in Newfoundland and I'm 44yrs old. I started writing late in life but I'm trying to make up for lost time. I've written my first book this year,(Fiction) and I just signed a contract with a publisher. Hopefully it will be a sucess.

I'm looking forward to speaking to others on various writing topics in the future. Once again, love the site. Take care.

Hiya!

One of my favourite American authors, Raymond Carver, started writing aged 50 after a life of alchoholism and failed marriages. Seems to me like the perfect place to write from.

In any case, welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy your time here and look forward to seeing you around.

Welcome Tuckamore, Just think, by starting writing later in life, you have so much more experience to draw upon. A distinct advantage over some of us younger writers.

I came upon this site accidentally, too, and I love browsing around it. Hope you will too!

And, like petrel said, because you're starting the writing business at an advanced age, you'll have so much more experience to draw from than us younger folk. Well done on writing a book already!

Have fun and good luck, but remember to play by the rules around here!

Hi Tuck...welcome to the forums you old man you!
I'm chuckling at fushin's comment at your writing "at an advance age" etc. I'm 76 years young and from my vangtage point...you are a mere child! (Now I hope that made your day!)

Experience is what makes you a good writer, as well as a human being...not age in and of itself!
I'm sure your book reflect that...congratulations by the the way. Please check out our sister site...Lig.Org...you will find many kindred souls there in the story catagories and the feedback is great. See ya there.

BTW...Please call on me or one of the other moderators for help if you need it.
