Hello!

I'm new. I love to read. I love to write. What more can there be to know?

I dabble a bit in almost everything.
Historicals, Fantasy, Mystery, True Crime, Romance, Classics, Biographies...etc, etc... just nothing horrific. I don't wish to be disturbed anymore than I have to be.

However, I cannot touch sci-fi. Whenever someone mentions sci-fi robots pop into my head. Robots that shoot lasers out of their fingers. And guys in spandex. With cucumber shaped laser guns. It's the covers' fault! I swear!

But I'll try anything, so now I'm reading Dune. Better late than never.

Would it be called a phobia? I never thought of it that way. So now I'm going out and conquering my fears. Bring your sci-fi stories on.

Welcome to the forums I probably wouldn't call it a phobia... just an aversion. I hope you enjoy Dune, it's a really interesting story.

Welcome to Writing Forums Latiscity! Sci-Fi is the best! As long as it's not the cheesey kind that you described. lolol Again, welcome!

ello! welcome

Sci-fi hangs in the balance with me; I loved Dune, but i found the series a bit wierd. The 1st one was great, the 2nd was fairly boring, the 3rd was amazing and the 4th was so boring it put me off reading the last 2!
