Hello.
I recently posted my first story here, and figured I may as well introduce myself a bit better. My name is Kyle, I'm 18 years old, I like to read and write, and I tend to like the pouring rain better than any amount of sun.
Generally I like to be in quiet places, usually alone or maybe with a couple close friends. No social butterfly here.
Hobbies include Warhammer (omg, geek), Everquest, and as previously mentioned, reading, writing, and literature.
Current favorite books include "Our Lady of the Forest" by David Guterson, "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien, and the nerd in my likes the Weis/ Hickman Dragonlance books.

Hey, Malice! Welcome to the writingforums.
You know, funnily enough, you sound like a lot of my guy friends . . . they're all into Everquest, but they're obsessed about this game called Halo. They're planning on skipping prom this year to play video games all night, which makes me laugh. Not that there's anything wrong with video games, of course, it's just that I think it's amusing to think of them crowded around this T.V. screen playing video games when everyone else is dancing the night away. I'll probably be sitting at home with a good book that night. Or sitting with my guy friends reading a good book. Anyway, now for the standard bit of my greeting:
If you post some of your writings on the board, do try and critique someone else's as a kind of community service to the forums. This usually isn't a problem, I just like to issue this advice to guard against people who'll post their own work and be like, "OK, now everyone has to come and comment on my stuff, and I'll just sit here and wait because I don't have to do anything for them". Also, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the site admin (that would be Chrispian) or any of us mods (the people with 5 orange squares and the word 'Moderator' under our name). Welcome once again to the forums and happy posting!

Hello, Malice.
Everquest, huh? My best friend loves that game to death, but can rarely play it because of the cost. He's always showing me screenshots of his character, who is the topic of the vast majority of his writing.
The Things They Carried, huh? I actually read that not very long ago for school. That is . . . I kind of read it. I procrastinated far too much, and had to skim about 3/4 of it to write an essay. It was, however, one of the coolest books I read that term, next only to Truman Capote's In Cold Blood. Very emotionally charged, and I liked it.
Welcome; I hope you have already and will continue to enjoy the forum, and stuff.

Malice . . . did you edit the last line of your post? I could've sworn it looked different last time I read it!
I read The Things They Carried for school a couple years ago. It's a great book . . . it's very moving and powerful. I should really go pick it up again.
