Writing BUg

Hello All;

My Name is Raul and I am 32 yrs old from Texas and I have gotten the writing bug. I have read several books in spanish and in english by different authors. I want to write a memoir about my childhood as a migrant worker in the Texas panhandle, but there are already some books about it, should there be one more? Also, I am good in writing in spanish, but I would like to write it in english, I am still debating. What do you all think. I have actually started writing in both languages, mabe I'll write a young adult stories in spanish and write the memoir in english. One thing for sure is that I want to start writing to share my stories.
The other stories that I have read about migrant workers, always depict the people as very poor and the anglos being very racist towards them and things like that, but I never faced stuff like that, my childhood as a migrant preteen(I actually worked on the fields) were interesting, funny and adventurous. Well, I hope to hear some good stuff from you all. Thanks. Later, I gotta go to class.

Hello Raul.

There is always room for another story. Just make it your story and it will be new, fresh, alive in a way that nobody else's is. As for the linguistics of it, I say write it in whatever you are most comfortable. If that is english for this story, then write this story in english. If it is spanish for others, write others in spanish. It's completely up to you, that's one reason why writing is so beautiful.

SKHargan is right, there is always room for another story.

Particularly if, as you said, your experiences were different to those you've read about.

You should write in which ever language you feel the most comfortable with in order to get your best results.
