Hi everyone :)
Hi all,
I wanted to say hello and mention what a great forum you have here. I have also been checking out the website (but just like the forum) there's loads of stuff to get through!
A little bit about me...
I'm a resident of Bournemouth down in Dorset (UK). I've always had an interest in writing but only recently actively followed it up. I've just taken part in NaNoWriMo and about an hour ago hit the 50K word count
I had been lurking for a couple of days but I am now relaxed enough to post here!
My job is government related and very boring so I won't go into detail unless you really want to know
Back to writing... there's no particular genre I won't attempt but for NaNo I'm doing sci-fi/humour. Reading wise, I'll read pretty much anything and quite often I'll walk into my library and pick a book a random. Often I've discovered an amazing author that I would never have considered otherwise.

Welcome to the forums, light! Are you going to post your novel here? I hope you do! I can't wait to read it!
Here's something I tell all newbies: don't be discouraged if it takes a while for people to critique your writing; some sections of the forum tend to be slower than others. If no one responds to your writing at all, that does not mean that you're a bad writer. It just means that we're lazy No, but really, don't be discouraged. Just keep on writing Also, if you do post something of your own, remember to read and critique someone else's work. Think of it as a sort of community service. Happy posting!

Thanks for the warm welcome Lily and Farror
I'm sneaking in this quick post at work so don't tell anyone
I'll admit I'm a bit nervous about posting the novel. I haven't really shared any work I have done in the past so it will be a new experience for me. I'll also bear in mind about posting feedback. I agree 100% it's a matter of give and take, so hopefully everyone benefits. If only all forums were like that!
Ho hum back to work I suppose before people wonder what I'm upto!
