Hi, I'm Sam
Hey. Just a friendly hello. I guess I'll also say a bit about myself.
I'm a senior in High School, and writing is sort of a hobby of mine. I like the idea of writing, especially short stories and fiction, to express ideas because I have huge respect for the power of a story. A story is universal and each person can take their own lesson from the story.
So, yes, hello everyone.

Yay! Another senior! Someone I can grouse to about college applications!
Ahem . . . anyway.
Welcome to the forums! Don't be discouraged if it takes a while for people to respond to your work. Some of the sections are pretty slow moving- the poetry section is the most popular, because poems are usually short and easy to comment on. I suggest that if you're going to post short stories, post them in short chunks so people won't be intimidated by a long block of text (like I tend to be ) Happy posting, and welcome to the forums once again!

Thank you very much. I like it here already; the last place I was at was pretty juvenile and it wasn't a very helpful community to be a part of. So thanks a lot for the welcome, it is well appreciated.
And I'd love to gripe to you about college apps, Lily. It's what I do

Ahem, I beg to differ but I think you'll find that I am Sam.
Anyway, welcome to this forum which I've only just joined myself. It may not be the busiest forum on the interweb, but overall I’d say the quality-to-crap ratio is far more lenient than the majority of the WWW’s digital hovels. From what I've seen so far, this place is funkier than a monk in a, err, bunk.
Well, fleeing the scene of that attempt on the life of the English language, I guess I'll just reiterate what I've already said; hello, and have fun.

Eek! You're Chinese (I got the link to your page via your profile on AIM) too and you like Heinlein and Card . . . you are my new best friend! I'm like, the only Chinese person I know who's a senior NOT applying to Ivy Leagues . . . depressing. Oh well!
By the way, the forum you went to couldn't have been the one on Hatrack.com, could it?

You'll find that very common. WritingForums is most certainly the largest, friendly, and most helpful writing forum out there. When I first searched around for a forum, I came across many highly unprofessional ones, until google showed me that little blue text "WritingForums.com"
Anyway, welcome to the forum! Enjoy.
