Dear Spud & Lily,
This is a subject I could bore you with for hours. Robin Good supports 40 other charities and so it is not specific in its outreach. We in fact are called THE ROBIN GOOD INITIATIVE because it is our aim to help people & support other charities wherever help is needed throughout Africa.
Spud is right, SA is not where the most help is needed (although we need help believe me). There are trouble spots throughout Africa, including Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Ghana, The Congo and many others. Dictator regimes are so common here as is corruption grand scale. People are starving and AIDS is epidemic. I feel most sorry for the kids who are the innocent victims. Robin Good has delivered 12 million meals this year and we continue to grow. I am not doing a charity drive on here cuz I really did come in here to have fun and to do what I love most - write! I have written articles for various publications (magazines, newspapers etc.) and fully intend to write a book. I hope that I will also be able to offer support to other writers while here.
Lily thanks for showing me that people still have heart in other parts of the world. I am going to post a poem here soon called 'I see the war in your eyes' If anyone wants to take a look at it now with graphics intact, check out this link:

It kills me to think of little children forced into war.
Creatively yours
Chanti
PS:
I am glad you enjoyed my post from last night 'Apartheid, world peace and other serious subjects' You know you just gotta laugh or you will do a lotta crying.
PPS:
Zimbabwe is north of South Africa and is not a part of this country. I am agog as to why Mbeki has done nothing about the state of affairs there. Robert Mugabe the dictator who runs that country is a raving lunatic and probably syphillis infected. The country is fast going to the dogs. It is good to see countries in Africa (like Botswana), however, doing well economically even although AIDS is rife and a serious threat to the future. In Botswana alone, one in four people are infected with HIV and maybe more!
