CQ!CQ!CQ! (and a hello to you too)

Hello, allow me to introduce myself. I am Rachel, the misfitted NYCer who sings opera, plays hockey, and writes short stories, poems, and plays. I sing in a madrigal choir, work at Adele's kids and Adults, and i have turtles. My familiar is the goldfish. Born a Jew, became an agnostic theist who still is tied with jewish tradition.

i also wear glasses

I'm always in the mood for an intellegent conversation so feel free to chat!

I have a question. How realistic do you think it would be for me to be able to survive on my photography, music, writings, and art? I've heard of starving artists but would i be able to, in your opinion, to live off of many art forms? I seem to have a passion for creation and expression.

windswept yes, but all me inside

Peace

Welcome to the forums! It's great to see another singer- it gets kinda depressing after a while when you're the only classical singer in the whole town. All the rest of my friends are total Broadway buffs. I am, too, but both fortunately and unfortunately, I'm being trained in the classical way, so it sounds odd when I try to sing Broadway . . . anyway!

You'll find several threads on writing as a career scattered about the forums- I'll try and scout some out for you. Once again, welcome, and happy posting!

P.S. If you don't mind, I'll probably poke you with some questions about Judaism now and then since I'm absolutely fascinated thanks to The Chosen and my World Religions class
