Don't tell me I did'nt warn you!

OK folks get ready, and hold on to your stomach for a rookie writer is now about to enter the writing horizon.

I urger you to regard this newbie with the utmost caution for you are about to witness all the fears, the agonies and torments associated with a person entering writinghood.

Main features include prosaic, hackneyed, cliched and unimaginative uncreativity.

For all those with weak hearts and weaker stomachs...I urge you to (due to the delicacy of your constitution) to stay away.

For the strong and stalwart, you may want to cry, to bawl, to berate, to decimate, to purge the mind that could have come up with such monstrosities...to wring the neck of this awful connoisseur of lifeless, perverted prose...but trust me, you will be come out stronger for the cause...for this is honourable charity ladies and gentlemen...you will have helped a Peasant Writer turn into Lord Author.

So, enter my madness...if you dare!

Rookie, rookie,

New and unsolved case to crack,
into the cookie jar have a snack.
Hide it quick for when mom comes,
she will smell even the tiniest crumbs.
Rookie, rookie,
welcome home.
Don't be shy,
this ain't Rome.
When your here,
write as you please.
When your in fear,
post with ease...

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the welcome...!

Rookie writer
sinking in this mire
of hopeless rejection and defeat
situation seemed dire
sinking...too weak...mind entire...

Comes along then a writer true
set's this rookie's mind on fire anew
get's things cookin,
in the rookie's imagination stew
and so these writing demons he slew
with help from the forum's writing crew.

I am sure, if you're not cautious,
You will soon be feeling nauseous,
o'er some trite and hackneyed piece of badly written genre gore.

While you're learning, passions burning,
You might find your stomach turning,
Feel emotions running rampant. Feel muse beat you bloody, raw and sore.

Things will soon be getting better.
You might even get a letter,
Telling you your latest work has been accepted, made the cover, made the score.

Then the critics start to harping --
Ignore them as they screech their carping,
You can give them all the finger! You have made the final cut now - You're established evermore!

Welcome! You aren't the ONLY bad poets here, as my own example proves beyond doubt!

CD Moulton -- I've found it's better to use my real name, then I don't have to remember anything, and my "senior moments" are becoming more frequent. I'm sure the booze has NOTHING to do with it -- anymore than that hack I had every morning for twenty years had a thing to do with my being a chain smoker (Quote: "If you can light a chain, I'll smoke it!"). It was PURE COINCIDENCE that the hack stopped as soon as I stopped smoking! So there!
