Don Juan

Yet another hack to waste your time reading. Yes that is me, I have previously involved myself in writing very risque material which I was told was very well written even considering the content. So I thought maybe I would write something which has no vulgar or sexual content and see how that went. Anyway the reason I am writing this is that I was wondering why nobody has reviewed my short story - The August Confessions of Don Juan. It has been rated but not reviewed yet just one review and I'll be happy. I have asked a friend of mine if she could review it considering she loves my other literature and that she has (on my advice) taken to reading some Shakespeare at last.

From the title of your post I thought you were some kind of Casanova and proud of it.

Welcome to the forum! Looking forward to reading your stuff. I ventured into writing risque material myself. I think I'm spent on that aspect.

O.o No pun intended.

Welcome to the forums from a fellow newbie-ish person!!

Just a reminder . . . not everyone on this forum sits at their computers eagerly waiting for a story to critique- we do have lives outside of the internet, you know

The pseudonym I use (Don Juan) goes back over a year now before I began to write again. It is just the result of a comeback to a rude remark somebody made. Needless to say never understood what the hell I was talking about or who Don Juan was. Anyway I don't think I would be comfortable being a Don Juan or Casanova - I hear as a point of psychology/physiology that budding Casanovas should be warned that they eventually can become impotent and male frigidity is known to exist. Like in Byron's 'Don Juan' sex became a matter of conquest and not necessarily about enjoyment or pleasure or happinness.

Conquest without the rest of it? Then he might as well just stick a flag... aiya! ::shuts self up about it::

I wouldn't call Don Juan or Casanova models of men either.

I'd take Falstaff as a great model.
