Hi, guess I should've done this first

Hello everyone,

Looks like I am making friends already, I just insulted rage to fury. I didn't mean to. Things are a little different when you are using words without seeing the person...you know body language and facial expressions are pretty important. I came off really bad. If anyone reads the post, please excuse my lack of experience. K, now that I got that out of the way, maybe I can still make a pal....you never know.

I am an author, I published my first book Angel Tears, short stories and poetry. I am currently working on a novel, "Velvet Rain". It is not as easy as I thought...hopefuly I will get some feedback. I am used to writing short stories.....a novel has a lot of pages!

I think my biggest problem is me, I write something, totally love it, put it aside. Two days later pull it out, read it, hate it, have a fit, then start again. This has got to stop!

Sounds pretty normal to me. Welcome. It took me a couple of months to tick someone off. Congratulations!

Welcome to the writing forums.

LooKng forward to reading your work. Read your post and you didn't insult rage, so don't worry about it. Have fun and let the writing begin

Thanks,

No one ends up on that list as far as I can tell. I believe it's due to open debate and honest expressions of opinion. I definitely have opinions and if I've landed on that list, well .. maybe I never noticed? lol

We like to disagree, because we learn from it. We might sound arrogant and obnoxious, but I'm the only one who really is. ("arrogant and...?" Are? I'm ...really are? "Only one", so "is". I'm ... is.)
"I think, therefore I'm is!"
Where was I? Oh, yeah, welcome to the pistachio house!!

Scryer,
Welcome to the site......... as said before don't worry about offending someone. I'm an intermittent visitor/contributor to the craziness on here, but everyone gets to figuring out what each other is all about pretty quick.
Congrats on having a published book........ Keith

Hi Scryer, don't worry about offending anyone.
We are a big family here, and like all normal families, we tick each other off now and again, but we criticise out of love and a desire to help each other improve...besides, we don't stay mad very long...we always kiss and make up!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, I am already at home! ragetofury and I are already on good terms...no hard feelings, this is one of the friendliest sites I've been to. The only one I have actually participated in. Great Crowd! I can't wait to take a peek at all of the writing around here, so much to see so little time! Bea, I have already seen some of your work, wonderful! just haven't had the time to comment yet. Holly, you will regret that last statement! you will eventually get sick of seeing me, I think I'm already addicted!

Kieth,
thanks for the support, and my book isn't doing to bad, I wanted to get my feet wet, you know, learn a little about the buisness of publishing, so I put together a small book 132p. of short stories and poetry tied together with a single theme. I figure you need to know a little, ok alot about the buisness end of things before you really dive in, you could end up making some pretty bad mistakes otherwise. So I sort of self published, with a company called xlibris. I say sort of self published because I don't pay for distribution, printing, or anything like that. I payed a one time fee, and the book is available nation wide, in all of the major book retailers, and I get to keep sole rights to the work. My next book, the one I am working on now is a novel, and that one I will go with traditional publishing, but I will have a firm grip on the buisness end. I would recomend this form of publishing to everyone here, it is a solid way to get your foot in the door, and learn the ropes, as well as make some money. If anyone is interested in knowing alittle more about this stuff, I'd be glad to talk my head off about it! oh yeah, by the way, if you'd like to take a peek at it, you can go to barnes and nobel .com and do a search for Angel Tears, or Lisa Young, and you can't miss the book, the cover is alittle LOUD. hahaha -Lisa
