Hi Everyone!!!

My name is Melissa, I am 21 years old and I have a 1-1/2 year old daughter. I am currently enrolled in the Long Ridge Writers Group so that I can tune up my writing skills. I am also involved in the Continuing Adult Education Program so that I can complete my grade 12. My dream is to be a published author of adult fiction novels. I am writing almost everyday, and I hope to have a couple of pieces of non-fiction done soon to be sent into magazines. Like all beginning writers, we have to start somewhere and the little bit of money along the way sure does help. I wish all of you the best of luck and I hope you find the strength and courage to fulfill your dreams

Melissa

Melissa,

Welcome! I look forward to reading some of your work. I think you'll find this a pretty fun group to chat with and learn and share with! I think two other members are also enrolled in Long Ridge Writers Group. Let us know how that goes!

Welcome melissa.....i am still new here also, but these people seem really cool and very helpful. I have a 16 month old son ( ok that almost seemed irrelevant). Any way i hope all those classes help you. Here is something that might help you. Don't try to work on just stories because at some point you will get a block. Take some time maybe early in the morning and jot down how you feel. Sort of like a journal. I find it helps. That is just an idea though.

Good luck,
Mike

Hi Mike

Welcome to you too Mike

I actually do keep a journal and have referred to it for ideas and such. The course that I am doing allows me to explore non-fiction as well as fiction. It switches from articles to stories between each assignment as well as non-fiction and fiction. The course helps you to find your writing niche and develop it.

Welcome, Melissa........ I am probably even newer to this site and like it's arrangement so I'll try and contribute what I can, and learn what I can. We are classmates at least.....I just received yesterday my first assignment returned from my instructor through Long Ridge.
Good luck with your writing..... Keith
