Thread: Hey

Hey guys/gals

Well, a little about me I suppose. I live in Houston, love anything to do with cars/auto racing, and video games of course. My main interest isn't really writing at all.. in fact I've done very little of it, which may be a surprise seeing that I'm registering on a writing forum lol. Sometimes I write when I get bored, and I think I could be pretty good at it eventually.

I do have a little story I stared a few months ago. It was about 1 AM and I was bored out of my mind, but couldn't sleep because I had drank coffee at like 9 PM

(another thing about me: I LOVE coffee and anything to do with it!). I wrote a chapter, or maybe it's an introduction, I wouldn't know, and then forgot about it for two more months. I came across it yesterday, and thought maybe in my spare time I can keep working on it.

But, looking around, I see a LOT of great writing by other members here. That Nuts & Bolts story blew me away. It will be fun to read all the amazing stories posted by other members. I hope I can get to know you all and have a fun time here

Hello there Scott, and welcome to the forums. Writing a novel often starts by writing short stories - I used to make them up when I was only a kid, and they grew longer the older I became. At last, now I'm more than half a century young, I write full lenght novels.

Hi Nickie! Yeah, I've heard with a lot of authors that they started by writing short stories. I haven't done too many of those. I wrote a horror short story for a horror literature class I took a few semesters ago, but that's the only one I remember off the top of my head.
