Hello, my name is Ellis Schull. I have been an avid reader all of my life, but in my heart there has always been something about "classics" that turned my stomach, and rarely could I work up an attitude to read them. Not to say that I have not read some, of course. No, my attention was turned to the science fiction greats, Frank Herbert and his kin, Brain Herbert, Asimov, Heinlein, Gene Wolfe, Orson Scott Card. Classics in their own right, surely. I am 18 years old, did not graduate highschool, rather I took a state issued proficiency examn at the age of sixteen, and enrolled in community college at the age of 17. I discontinued my enrollment at the end of that year.
Honestly I did not see much value in the excersize of school other than complying to societies rigorous uniformity and qualifications, wasting a lot of my time and, greater still, suffering for things that I did not care a great deal about. So I stopped.
Since then I've worked many small jobs, as a salesman (cue handing out fliers for 3 hours a day), an artisan (local jewlery manufacturing), a carpenter (alongside my father), and for a short period for myself, collecting business doing simple grunt work such as gutter cleaning, lawn care, house washing, heavy lifting, cleaning, etc. But always I have been writing.
That's a lie. But at least when I have not been writing I have been reading.
I am very much looking forward to meeting the community here, I looked around in a lot of different forums before deciding to spend more than 12 minutes with this one.
Thank you for your time,
Ellis Schull
