    What ho!

I always find introductions to be the most frightfully difficult things, for one invariably must cope with the dual notion that one is committing to an evaluation of themselves- that they are creating something by which that most dreadful of things, the 'all important' first impression will be molded by, and yet simultaneously the urge is to get the thing out of the way so that the end to which the introductions is a means may be brought forth post haste.

Undoubtedly, you are all more aware of the hazards of introduction-making than am I, having yourselves already had achievement in that with which I currently struggle, but after nigh two months of attempting to introduce myself, getting stuck and giving up, I couldn't think of anything else to open with.

    Ahem

Hullo then! I, as you may see at your own leisure from the name labelled to this post, am Sokik! I am an eighteen year old English Literature student currently prepare to resume deadly battle with my A level examinations (I will have victory this time you monsters!) and it is my firm hope that I should eventually reach University (even if it does take me twice as long as all of my friends- the wretched geniuses!).

I, born among the Moonrakers (know your British folk mythology!) have always had a deep appreciation for the beauty of my native English countryside. Sadly the conspiring hand of fate chose to make me resident to the one part of Wiltshire which is not overburdened with charm and greenery. Swindon. For those of you who have never heard Swindon, it is a desert surrounded by Oasis, but I fear were I linger further on the subject I would inevitably descend into a rant, so enough of that.

Of reading I am fond of a host of authors, but my current favourite is Evelyn Waugh's 'Brideshead Revisited', the romantic portyrayal of Oxford University of which was enough to make me reconsider my plans to apply to the Open University (good though I know it is) and to revert my efforts to getting into a traditional campus Uni.
Of writing I most enjoy prose but am willing to try most anything (however terrible I may or may not be at it).

I am fond of Tweed and people with eccentric behaviour, and I think that's all the information and more that I should risk introducing myself wit-

For a while there I really believed you could pull off the miracle of an entire post where not one sentence ended in a preposition. Unfortunately such was not to be the case. But welcome anyway. You'll be amongst kindred spirits here. You can take that any way you wish.

Don't worry, there is a fair chunk of the membership who do not visit introductions, so this is only your first first impression. As for
