    Who needs an introduction?

Well, I do, of course, because you do not know me. I know many of you, as I have lurked behind the scenes for a while now. Many thanks to Candid Petunia for her help getting my account activated. So, here I am...

Who am I? Former US Navy Seabee, thus my username... currently an industrial machine technician, specializing in high speed equipment... father of three grown children... and an aspiring author of SciFi.
I am somewhat of an introvert, but not to the point of isolationism... I can still function in social situations without breaking into a sweat... most of the time...

I currently have three works in various stages of progress. The first and most complete is one I wrote for my two sons, with never any intention of actually publishing. But they made a deal with me... if they were to read it and give it a thumbs up, I would agree to pursue publishing it. Given their approval, I am now forced to honor my end of the deal... which has become my "OH CRAP!" moment. The story is in need of some judicious polishing, and my work schedule is occasionally brutal, leaving little time for writing except in brief bursts. I constantly pray for the muse to show up at those times... sometimes the muse cooperates... sometimes not... bust or boom, I am committed.

This is not ALL that I am, but it's a start. I look forward to participating in the community and offering any help I can to others and accepting any help others may bring.

Oh, and thanks for tolerating this longish ramble of mine!

Hi and welcome to the Boards, CB.
“The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.” ~ James Allen

"Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best." ~ Henry Van Dyke

    Thanks for the welcome, guys!

Aderyn - Yeah, about those fans of mine... it's kinda hard to count them since they are kin, but a deal is a deal... They do have discriminating tastes, however, so I am somewhat encouraged. Time will tell. My youngest son has even offered to help me polish the story. A Father/Son project, which, win or lose, is still a win for me!
