    Hello There

    HI,
My name is Jennifer, Like most of you I'm sure. Writing is my true love. I have written tons of poetry, I'm in the middle of writing eight books, And I have finally finished One children's book. (WOO HOO) It is soooo about time. Now the problem is I have NO IDEA how to get it published.. LOL And I thought writing the book was difficult. It will be really nice to be around folks that know where my head and heart are at.. SO.. HOWDY FOLKS

Hi there Jennifer, and welcome to these forums. Your first step towards becoming published should be polishing your novel until it's completely ready. Why? Because a publisher or agent doesn't want to see a manuscript full of grammatical errors or stylistic lacks. Also your plot should be intended to keep the reader busy and wondering.
Once that done, you can try and send off a query. There's help galore to show you how to write it. And rest assured, the only thing you need is a catchy letter. Something that makes that agent or publisher want to read on, now throw it on the big slush pile.
Afterwards, you have no more worries. If you get agented, then the agent will try and find a publisher for you. Or you immediately sign a contract with a publisher. Once the contract signed, the publisher will appoint an editor and he or she will work with you. Sometimes you need to rewrite big parts of the story and your timeline will not be too long! Mine is usually two weeks or at the best one month. And then you can sit back and relax. The rest will be done by others....

Though it starts with a J, my name isn't Jennifer. Welcome to our forums nonetheless.

    Welcome to WF, Jennifer.

I was stood up once by a Jennifer. There won't be any negative association though, don't worry.
