I'm Cuppy. I write things. I came here because the last writing forum forced me to review other people's works when I submitted my own. So I left. True story.

i believe here...you have to make at least 10 posts to other members before submitting your own work. a lot of people won't want to
invest their time reading your pieces, without you showing an interest in the work of others here, though.
welcome to the forum.
Hi there Cuppie, and welcome. Of course you can't expect people commenting on your work when you don't return the favor!

Hi Cuppy, and welcome to WF. WF is much of a give and take community, which means you'll have to give feedback to others to get some on your own. Everyone wants their works to be read, right?![]()

“The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.” ~ James Allen
"Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best." ~ Henry Van Dyke

"Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia." ~ E L Doctorow
"If you steal from one author, it's plaigiarism; if you steal from many, it's research." ~ Wilson Mizner
"When I was a little boy, they called me a liar, but now that I am grown up, they call me a writer." ~ Isaac Singer
"People want to know why I do this, why I write such gross stuff. I like to tell them that I ahve the heart of a small boy - and I keep it in a jar on my desk." ~ Stephen King
The reason I didn't like the idea of writing reviews for other people's work is because if I knew anything about what makes writing good I wouldn't be asking for help in the first place. Kinda ruins the point.
Anyone can expect anything they want. I'm considering making this line of thinking part of my writing.
And please, it's spelled Cuppy.
Cuppy, writing isn't only about all of the technical stuff. I bet I could have the most grammatically perfect story written and you wouldn't read it. Why? Because you know what you like and don't like. I've started reading mysteries and crime fiction again in my real life, so I figure reading the same stuff on here is good. You know what works for you or doesn't work for you as a reader.
You're not writing formal reviews, you're commenting on parts that people share.
No one is going to force you to do anything here, but don't be surprised if no one comments on your work that you post if you haven't done the same. Forums are give and take, not only take.
