I'm a writer at heart who finds excuses to not write. I think there are a number of underlying fears involved too. But I'm here and if I become active, that can only be a good thing to help me move forward.
I'm in my early thirties, a husband, and father of two.
My focus has always been short stories and I told my self I would only ever consider something longer when I had finished a good amount of short stories. Ideas seem to come to me easily enough and I do well at getting the ideas down on paper, but it's moving from there where I struggle.
That being said, my writing pride and joy is when participated in National Novel Writing Month in 2009 (after first hearing about it two days before it began) and completing the 50k word rough draft on time. I use that experience to tell myself, "Dude, you wrote a 28-chapter rough draft of a novel in a month. You can surely spit out a complete short story over the course of a month of two."
Glad to be here!
