Thread: Hello from Switzerland ! Bonjour :-) ...

Hi peeps !
I am a single mum living in the french part of Switzerland with my son Leon. I have been writing as a hobby for several years. I did have a few articles published in expats magazines here a few years ago. I have not been writing recently and have just decided today I would love to get back into it.

I did write a book that was 400 pages long in 2006. But it wasn't good i don't think, it was too personal. Never know what to do with it afterwards. As I am currently not working a real job and have some free time, I have thought about re-writing it.

I am curious about lulu.com - if anyone has any experience with them I would be very grateful for any comments on them. I cannot find out how much it would cost for example to have 5 hardback cover books from them (just to give to family, not to sell)

I enjoy photography and painting. and spending time with my son, who is the happiest little boy around. Look forward to interacting with people from this site. I joined in 2006 and remember then that it was a very insteresting and well done site

Hi, welcome to the site. The answer to your 'lulu' question is a bit indefinite, it depends on the size and the paper quality you choose. If you go to lulu and hit the 'publish now' button it runs you through the steps and shows you the possibilities and cost. You can stop or back out before the end if you wish. I am a technophobe, but I am managing to work my way through it.

Hello Gisele, and welcome to the forums. I can only advise you not to pay anything to have a book published. There are so many publishers and agents, and one of them will surely want to have a look at your book. Once accepted, you don't pay a thing.
