Greetings!
My name is Ashley, I live in western Canada, I'm 24, mostly I write fantasy but have ideas for other genres in the works.
I am currently working on a novel I started 6 years ago but have not worked on in for about 4 years now, I have started up again!
I am attending school to be a pharmacy technician, though I recently attended a sci-fi/fantasy convention for the second time and discovered I do in fact want to act still so after graduation and chilling as a tech for a good handful of years I intend on heading back to school. Basically I invested too much into a relationship, got dumped (dude is a total player), had my mom pushing me to be a scientist (she's happy about the pharmacy tech thing) and that just left me not knowing what I wanted to do. I ended up getting sucked into this program before I even realized it. I love the program though, I'm doing well and learning tonnes. They even let me play with needles! I thought this was it until I went to this convention again and went to this one panel and it hit me like a brick wall, for lack of a better analogy, I still love acting. Crazy eh? At least I'll have a great career to fall back on if the acting thing really doesn't work out. I am going to finish the program and stay in the field for at least a few years, who knows maybe I'll be content just doing that.
I love writing as well, but just as a hobby, I don't think I would want to do it as a career. Too much pressure = Ashley not being creative
As you can see I ramble when I type, never fails.
So this is my third post now I believe, already, my first was in the "Writing Discussion" thread regarding changing the character POV, so please check it out. I'm interested in networking and getting advice and opinions and will give as well if I can! Thanks!
